Cover Reveal!! Cade By V.A. Dold

Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years.
She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...
Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.
Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?
The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

Prologue

Prologue- The Plan

“Emma, we need to take matters into our own hands or they’ll never find their mates.” Isaac Le Beau set his snifter down before he crushed the glass in frustration. “We have seven virile, grown sons, who after two hundred years haven’t found their mates. If we don’t step in and give a hand to the wolf-goddess Luperca, our sons may spend their lives alone, without children to raise and without their other half to love. Dang it, I want some grandchildren, while I’m still young enough to enjoy them.”
He slowly raised his head and gazed at the love of his life, Emma. She was a unique blend of Romanian gypsy heritage and a very powerful voodoo priestess. Even after two centuries her exotic sparkling dark eyes and compact killer soft curves left him breathless. Some would classify her as a big, beautiful woman. He called her ‘sex on a stick‘. He swore she controlled every beat of his heart.
The warmth and agreement in those mesmerizing eyes silently prompted him to continue.
“Would you do your high-priestess voodoo thing and ask the spirits to identify their mates? With some influence we could bring them together, so they can recognize them on their own. I don’t want to force a meeting. Simply provide the opportunity. How about it, will you give it a try?” Isaac asked.
He knew Emma wouldn’t deny him. “Of course, I’ll perform the ritual, but I can’t give you any guarantees. All I can do is try. If we are truly blessed, Luperca will appear to me and give this endeavor her approval. I want our sons happy and I’d love to have a dozen grandchildren running around the house, too.”
Isaac opened his arms wide, inviting Emma to slide onto his lap. He buried his face into her hair breathing in her unique scent. The familiar fragrance calmed him like nothing else. He was confident everything would change for his sons very soon. He could hardly wait for each of them to meet their one true mate. No wolf should go fourteen hundred years alone.

Two weeks later, they enjoyed the cool breeze that came off the river, flowing through the open windows. A secret little smile lit up Emma’s entire face and her fingers tapped a tune on her cut crystal wine glass. He knew that expression well.
“Out with it, Emma,” Isaac said with a grin of his own. “What is it you’re dying to tell me?” He waited patiently for her to tell him her grand news.
Emma actually bounced in her seat. “I received answers from the goddess.” She clapped her hands excitedly. “Cade's mate is in New Orleans right now. Her name is Anna James. The goddess said she has had many unhappy years, but is now open to finding her one true love. Isn’t that fantastic? Two days from now she is destined to be in Jackson Square and then stop to eat lunch at Crescent City Brewhouse. She’ll be in the bar around eleven-thirty. As for the rest of the boys, the goddess said we must have patience. She’ll grant me visions in my dreams or come to me for each of them when the time is right.”
A surge of excited energy rushed through him as a hundred butterflies took up residence in his stomach. This must be what it felt like to win the lottery he thought. “We’ll have to move fast. We need to think of a way to get Cade there at the right time.”
“Maybe we can come up with a way to use Jackson square? Cade sits there so often it might be an option?” Emma offered.
“Maybe.”
He rubbed his chin, forehead crinkled in deep thought. “First we need to get him out of his home office and into the French Quarter. The bank called yesterday about a restaurant up for sale. I’ll have them schedule a meeting with Cade to review our investments and recommend this new opportunity.” He tapped his chin as the plan took shape, mumbling as he worked it out. He stood and paced across the room, prowled like the animal he was. He couldn’t think properly sitting down.
As he strode back and forth, he noted she had settled into an easy chair to watch him.
“That’ll get him to the city,” he thought aloud as he continued to tap his finger on his chin. “You’re right about his constant people watching, I’m sure he’ll take a walk and perhaps sit a while. A possibility.” Isaac cupped his jaw in his hand and rubbed the coarse stubble.
A satisfied smile tugged at his lips. “I’ve got it! I’ll ask him to meet me for lunch at Crescent City at eleven-thirty. Richie tends the bar, he’ll know the mating signs. When Cade arrives, goddess willing, he will sense his mate. I’ll have Richie tell him I won’t be able to make it. If I’m not there for lunch he will be free to spend time with her.”
Smile broadening, he folded his arms across his chest and nodded. They had a solid plan. In less than a week he could have his first daughter-in-law. Isaac settled into his leather captain’s chair. “I’ll arrange everything with Richie." He felt two hundred years younger, like the bold robust young man who had swept his mate off her feet. By the wistful expression Emma wore, he must look it, too.
As he sipped his rich, sweet cognac, he imagined a baby in Emma’s lap, sleeping peacefully while a toddler played with blocks on the floor. His sigh brought her attention to him with a raised brow. She would laugh if she knew what he was dreaming.
A smile continued to pull at his lips. He couldn’t help it. He was very pleased with his little romance ambush, positive it would be successful. Cade was in for a wonderful surprise in two days’ time.
“Now that we have the plan, what do you think she will be like? Did the goddess give you any hints?”
She laughed. “No, you silly man, the goddess doesn’t have time for things like that.”
“You know he has always favored curvy women. I sure hope she isn’t skinny, he might not even look at her if she is.” A little shiver ran through him. “Remember the gal he dated who looked a lot like you? She was a plus sized beauty. Cade never said anything, but Marcus drove him crazy with that ‘Oedipus’ nickname.” He laughed as he recalled the antics of the boys.
“You’re right, he does like a woman with meat on her bones. All the boys do.”

Review! Rising from the Ashes (Picking up the Pieces #2) By Jessica Prince

Book Title: Rising from the Ashes
Author: Jessica Prince
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 25, 2014
Hosted by: Book Enthusiast Promotions

RISING FROM THE ASHES

Wow, this is going to be the hardest review I’ve ever written. I both loved and didn’t like the book. When I first read book one, Picking up the Pieces, I loved the friendship between the characters. It was so inspiring and heartwarming the way they all stuck together and were there for each other at the worst of times. Their loyalty was their strongest piece. Emmy and Luke from book one, had the support of all their friends even though there were such big secrets that they all knew about except Luke, which I agree was Emmy’s right to tell him when it was right. With Rising from the Ashes, it was the total opposite. Savannah has this huge secret except only one person knows. I love Savannah and Jeremy as a couple, they both complimented each other when they were committed and their romance was off the charts hot. Throughout this book, they were a train wreck. Partially because Savannah has the worst self-esteem, and what makes it worse is that all her friends know that. Jeremy just baffles me. Any man that just loses his mind from any woman touching him makes me puke, I mean come on…show some will! The story went well up until the big secret reveal. After that I just wanted it to be over. I am so disappointed with how Savannah’s two biggest supporters and supposed best friends just dump her. Only one person actually is there for her and it was just heartbreaking. That friendship that I loved from the first was gone. It actually took drastic measures for anyone to see what a dick they were being to her. Why did I give this 4 stars then? Well, other than the story plot, the writing was fantastic. Easily pulled in and hard to put down. I did shed a tear or two, and laughed a few times as well. I hold hope that the strength in friendship returns later although this one might have ruined that image for me.

Review Plus Giveaway!: Nature's Destiny By Justine Winter

Nature's Destiny is one of those rare finds, that if it wasn't put right in front of you, you would miss it. Thank goodness Justine reached out to me for a review. With that being said, it was also one of those stories that you could tell where the story would go. When I first started, I wasn't sure if it was a YA type or an adult. By half-way through, scenes got hotter and clothes were flying. The characters had an easy likeness about them, which keeps you completely engrossed in the story. Luna, once realizing her destiny, became one tough chick. Love those kinda characters. Riley, major alpha male, worried me. I completely thought he was going to be the " I love you but can't have you because your too good for me" guy. Thank GOD he wasn't. He was the perfect all around guy. Nature's Destiny has lots of action, romance and suspense. This is definitely one to read!

Review Plus Giveaway!: Deviation (Clone Chronicles #2) By Heather Hildenbrand

Review:
Heather’s newest installment of The Clone Chronicles, Deviation, is as gripping and intense as the first. She does not disappoint readers returning with her incredible writing ability putting you right in the story with her characters. In this story, Ven is still under the thumb of Titus Rogen.  With the love of Linc and her awesome sidekick Obadiah, her journey continues in trying to escape Titus and help the other imitations. Ven has left her quiet and timid personality to one of confidence and strength. I love watching her character grow in each chapter. So many questions of who is the master mind with Titus and which one of her friends will betray her, keeps you on the edge of your seat biting your nails. Without giving too much away, Deviation gives you just enough to pull you along in the series but not enough to end the anticipation of the questions and struggles her characters face. Continue with this captivating series, you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!

Review! Laura's Wolf By Lia Silver

Laura's Wolf (Werewolf Marines, # 1)

Laura’s Wolf has a great storyline. I really liked Laura. I found her character entertaining and her back ground was so intriguing. She is young but has a big backbone and she takes everything in stride. It was refreshing to not see her become one of those “save me all the times” girl. Roy, is so broken but he is also level headed and approaches everything cautiously. That’s the military piece coming from him. He is so scared and reserved that you just want to see him open up and come out all right. The story was different, which is refreshing to get a new take on a werewolf story. The romance and action were good, story was a bit long but it keeps you entertained. It kept me pulled in until about three quarters till the end and then it became clinical for me. The action had reached its climax and you were on the downside but the story kept going with the main focus on PTSD. The author was great about helping you understand how a person is effected by PTSD both in the military and not. This book was not only an enjoyable fiction story but one you can learn from as well.

Review: Tattoo (Take it Off #7) By Cambria Hebert

Tattoo Blog Tour Banner

Review:

I absolutely love Cambria’s NA stories. I read Torch and LOVED it. I lucked out and missed all the ones in between to Tattoo. All I can say is “thank you to whichever powers above put Tattoo in my lap!”.  Tattoo was just as great as the first book and what I am assuming just as great as the ones in between. In Tattoo, Brody, has that cocky bad ass cop attitude that you groan when you first read it but melts your heart later on learning the why’s of it. Taylor, whom I at first thought spoiled rich girl was going to need to be strangled actually turned out to be a better, stronger character than I expected. There is so much intense action, drama and romance which makes it such a great page turner. Each chapter just sucks you in more and more than the previous one until “Bam!” it’s over. The thing is though, why I love Cambria’s writing? You have an ending! No cliff hanger, no unresolved issues, she concludes the story and gets you excited to start the next one. Tattoo is just great. Nothing else can be said.  Enjoy!

Unnatural. One word to sum up werewolf Kyle Larsen—his mood swings, abnormal body, and choice of female.

The third, though? No, feline shifter Brook Nicholls was all his doing—a female of whom the pack will never approve.

As part of the Coalition, an organisation with even stricter rules than the pack and a rigidly warped sense of responsibility, Brook comes with a whole lot of opposition of her own.

No wonder the two of them keep their relationship secret for as long as they can.

ARC Review: Sinners and Saints By AmBear Shellea

Sinners and SaintsARC for Honest Review

*Sigh*
I want to be a kick ass chick too. Can I just say girl power! I love these books where women need no man to save them. Smart, stubborn, motivated and strong. You have got to enjoy a story like this with characters that inspire. I love Vylette. Being able to keep your head straight when put in the situation she was in is tough, but she does a kick ass job of it. Dorrian, hmmm, the jury is still out on him. Whereas he is a remarkable man for doing the things he does for abused women, I am still questioning him as a love interest. We shall see in coming stories. Amber has done a fabulous job with Sinners and Saints. My only complaint, it ended too quickly! Action, adventure, romance and some steamy scenes make for the perfect story. I can’t wait to see where Vylette and Dorrian’s adventures lead to next.
