There are very few novellas I will read and actually enjoy. I can honestly count on one finger how many there are. I might have to start using my other hand so I can add this one to it. In the beginning of Death Dealer, I was worried because there seemed to be a lot of back story to go along with the current story. Since novellas are generally 100 pages or less, would Ashley be able to bring the past and the current times together to understand the characters and what was going on. Well, she did it and did it brilliantly so that I wanted it to be so much longer. This paranormal fantasy is so intriguing and exciting all in one. For me, the ending was worth it. Ugh, I love hot endings... makes it so much better and the anticipation was built perfectly. Deacon is one of those characters that has the hard bad ass exterior but the soul and heart of a man that we all long for. Mia, such a strong female lead and determination that we can all admire. Both characters are driven for revenge but ultimately will that drive cost them each other. Written with true meaning and a underlying message that we all can learn from. I look forward to the next installment. Enjoy!
